REKINDLING
a TRADITION |
|
 |

CVT recently received national recognition from
SMOKESHOP MAGAZINE for it's efforts to revive cigar
rolling in Connecticut. Most people are unaware
that cigar manufacturing actually started in Connecticut.
The first cigar rolling factory in the U.S. opened
not far from here in Suffield in 1810. By 1890 there
were thousands of small cigar factories across New
England turning out millions of cigars by hand.

MAGAZINE RATES BATTLEGROUND CIGAR |
Our
BATTLEGROUND "ALABAMA RAIDER" cigar was
recently reviewed in the SPRING edition of SMOKE MAGAZINE.
We received a 3.9 rating, missing an "Excellent
" rating by just .1 point!
These cigars are being co-produced in the Dominican
Republic by a "major" manufacturer and are
available in both Connecticut Shade and broadleaf
wrappers. |

BATTLEGROUND CIGAR BLENDS |
We
have some very exciting news we would like to share
with you! Over the past several months we have been
very busy perfecting some exciting new developments
for our Battleground cigar line. The entire series
of Battleground Cigars is now available in a mild
INFANTRY blend or a medium bodied CAVALRY blend. Both
blends are made entirely of Dominican tobacco, with
the exception of the wrapper which is Connecticut
grown Shade tobacco. Both blends are also available
in Connecticut grown maduro Broadleaf wrappers. The
most outward change that distinquishes these blends
is the addition of the generals face on the cigar
band! Beautifully recreated, these bands are now available
in these generals: Grant, Hancock, Custer, Chamberlain,
Lee, Cleburne, Semmes, Pickett & Jackson. |

HEATS UP THE GREAT WHITE NORTH |
CVT would like to welcome Robert Pulido to our OLD
POWDER KEG fan club. Recently I received an order
from Bob and proceeded to process it for shipment
via UPS. The only problem was UPS did not provide
service to what I thought was the state of Arkansas.
I scratched my head....cause that never happened before.
So, I brought the package to the local post office
and asked for regular ground delivery. The clerk barked
back "this package will arrive in two to three
months". Upon hearing this, I thought I was going
to fall over.....I said "three months to Arkansas?"
No she said, the address for this package is the NORTH
POLE, A L A S K A. Well let me tell you, I was bowled
over with laughter, I though I was going to choke...
laughing! Never in my wildest imagination did I expect
an order from North Pole, Alaska. Don't worry Bob,
I paid the extra postage to get it there in three
days. It's the least we can do for such a memorable
order. Afterall, we can't let our cigars freeze in
transit...can we?!
